Jul 21, 2009 · Whenever my laptop is closed while still on and then I open it to continue my work (or after it goes into hibernation) I am unable to access the wireless internet without restarting first. In short, I had to plop in an old NIC from D-link and let Vista install it's drivers before I had access to the internet. I was running WinXp and never had any issues. (it worked in win vista,i hope win 7 will show same result) simply open control panel > view network status and task > manage network connections > Here u will find ‘wairless network connections’. bring its properties by right clicking > a box comes with tab ‘networking’. find ‘TCP/IPv6’ and UNCHECK it rebooted etc and windows vista continues to only allow "local access only" on various networks both wired and wireless and on other networks it works fine.
